Cancellation Policy

A text reminder will be sent 2 days before your dog’s appointment.

If you cannot make your appointment, please message to cancel within 24 hours. Failure to cancel your appointment within 24 hours will result in a cancellation or no show fee that will be 50% of your booked service cost.

I hope that clients will respect my time and understand how difficult it can be to manage filling and re-organising appointments at late notice.

Drop off and pick up

Drop off

Please ensure your dog is on secure lead for drop- off.

If you are running late for your appointment please be courteous and notify us, however, lateness exceeding 30 min may result in your appointment being cancelled.

Pick up

Once you are notified that your dog is ready, it is appreciated that you promptly make your way to pick up.

The salon does not have capacity for sitting dogs and this can become very difficult to manage when dogs are left for long periods as bookings are overlapped.

Pick-ups exceeding 45min after notice will result in an additional $15 sitting fee.

Other Conditions

Fleas

Should we find your dog have any fleas they will be given a flea bath at your expense of an extra $10-15.

Dangerous or Aggressive Dogs

In the event that your dog becomes too stressed, aggressive or a danger to groom we reserve the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services or cancel grooming services at any time before, during or after grooming and the client will be charged appropriately for work completed to that point.

Matting policy

I pride myself on being a caring and humane groomer and practice ‘humanity before vanity’

Matted dogs will be shaved off for their care and wellbeing. Should we be presented with a matted coat, if our opinion is that it will be kinder to shave the coat back completely, this will be done in compliance with Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979 (POCTA), section 3. “to treat the animal in a humane manner”, and section 5. “Where pain is being inflicted upon the animal, to take such reasonable steps as are necessary to alleviate the pain.”

  • Severely matted dogs will be shaved off for their care and wellbeing. Should I be presented with a matted or neglected coat, if our opinion is that it will be kinder to shave the coat back completely, this will be done in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 ( Sec 5. – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering).
  • Dematting is not included in the price of the groom. There will be an extra charge for the service due to time and extra wear and tear on equipment.
  • If your dog is matted, this must be communicated thoroughly upon booking, and must be clear we a booking a matting removal appointment. We reserve the right to refuse matted dogs if a de matting appointment was not made and severity of the matting was not clearly communicated by the owner prior to the appointment or at the time of booking
  • Matting removal appointments are significantly longer appointments. The process requires careful technique and can be uncomfortable for your dog. They will be given breaks between grooming to avoid any excessive stress and discomfort.
  • We reserve the right to refuse matted dogs if we feel the removal will be unsafe or becomes unsafe and excessively stressful for your dog throughout the process and the client will be charged appropriately for work completed to that point.
  • Shaving your dog will dramatically change their appearance. The hair will be very short and close to the skin.  This may expose pre-existing skin issues. Matted hair can cause a variety of skin & health problems, which may only become apparent once matting has been removed. These coul dinlude but not limited to: Infections, skin irritations and inflammation, hot spots and sores, bacterial and dead skin build up, parasites and haematomas (blood filled blisters)

Once your dog has been treated for de matted, we can work together to agree a plan going forward, to ensure the matting does not happen again.
